A neat vintage cast iron grilling grate. This is possible the earliest forerunner to the George Foreman grill!
Marked Shepard Hardware with an 1887 patent date. Probably for use on top of a coal or wood stove.
Has tabs all over to keep the food raised, and a trough for catching grease. Not sure what would have been cooked on it, probably bacon, steaks or similar food, just looking at it is making me hungry. Measures about 10-1/2 across not including the handle. Has some wear overall and a repair to the handle.
Casting is a bit thin and it is not surprising that this would have broke once there. Expect minor evidence of use or imperfections, dings etc. We take many photos of our items to assist with the description. Please use the photos to help judge content and condition.
